Does absence make the heart grow fonder?

Absence makes thy heart grow fonder.

-Anonymous-

One Month or 4 weeks or 30 days….”that’s not that long” people say, “It’ll go by fast” or “your lucky you’ll have the house all to yourself” is said by others. Maybe I have the over sensitive gene. What do i say…”I really love my husband”, and I really enjoy his company. It’s been a little over two weeks that I’ve seen him. Why, you ask? He is in South Africa on a business trip. Big sigh. With being married for almost 19 years, this is the longest we have been apart…EVER! The daily phone calls help, but it doesn’t fill the hole that a big hug can. With two weeks left to go, today for some reason the quote above has been repeating in my head all day long. I realize I have what some people never find, or worst of all, lost…the one you are meant to love. I’m missing the casual daily contact of the touch of the hand, the hip bump to slid them over so I can use the sink kind of thing or fighting for covers kind of stuff. You don’t really notice how precious those things are until they are absent. So with a heavy heart and another sigh and the clock already tolling 11:15pm I leave this quote for you to ponder as it is a very good one that I use often.

Yesterday, is history . Tomorrow, is a mystery. Today, is a gift…that is why, it is called the present.

Chinese proverb

So with a new day approaching, and another day is completed…………..till my love is returned to me. I love you and miss you dearly.

In closing, I ask myself this question again. Does absence make the heart grow fonder?
My response is a resounding… YES!
